Mahesh Bhatt & Vikram Bhatt Present Sanak – Ek Junoon, directed by Krishna Bhatt, brings out the price people are willing to pay to triumph in life. Starring Rohit Bose Roy and Aindrita Ray, the series will hit MX Player on October 16 and will be available in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.
Sanak – Ek Junoon is the story of an ambitious small-town couple, Ajay (Rohit Bose Roy) and Ragini (Aindrita Ray) who move to Mumbai in the hope of a superior lifestyle. Ajay, a junior lawyer, gets a unique opportunity from his boss Mr. Shekhawat (Pawan Chopra), but in return he must compromise on his values and renounce what is dear to him.
Krishna Bhatt said: “I wanted to show the moral confusion that an ordinary man goes through when they are asked to compromise their morals in order to achieve more in life while exploring where to draw the line. Sanak – Ek Junoon is depicting a couple’s struggles in a small town in a big world where they find themselves trapped in a relentless cycle that changes life as they know it.”
Rohit Bose Roy elaborated on his character, saying: “Ajay isn’t power hungry himself, but he’s too ambitious, leaving him vulnerable to the power-hungry shark-infested waters at his mega-law firm. This series shows just how horrific it is. can go wrong if you are blinded by your ambition, you are not only destroying an opportunity to live your own dreams, but also ruining the lives of everyone around you.”
Aindrita Ray added: “I feel there are times when everyone loses the road to success, and I believe it is the responsibility of those around us to keep us grounded in these difficult situations. This series will be a strikes a chord with many people who belittle their self-esteem for those they love.”
The series also stars Rushad Rana, Rishi Despande, Antara Banerjee, Amaara Sangam, Tasneem Ali and Harpreet Jatail. Hungry for more, an oscillating moral compass and the intricate secrets of a major law firm, Sanak – Ek Junoon tests the limits of Ajay and Ragini’s love affair.
