For everyone who is as excited about it as we are The Orville season 3, isn’t it nice to have an official premiere date? We like to think so!
Thankfully, the folks at Hulu today were kind enough to finally lift the veil on some news related to the show, which has been off the air for over two years. (The last time it was there, it aired on Fox.)
For starters, there’s a new official title in The Orville: new horizons. This may be intended to set the show apart from where it was after its first two seasons on air, something the writers/Hulu may have thought was essential to expanding the overall world. The show will stream again on Thursday, March 10 – there are no details on the rollout at this time.

So why are we waiting so long, especially when you consider that season 3 was filmed a while ago? The simplest answer we can provide is that: The Orville has one of the longest post-production windows of any program out there. It has a ton of special effects it needs to add, and that’s before you consider the orchestration, the editing, and a whole lot more. This is such a very ambitious show, which is of course one of the reasons why we are eternally nervous that this could be the last season to come. It sounds like there’s a general interest from the cast and crew to do more, so let’s hope Hulu gives the green light here, provided it performs reasonably well on the service. They clearly wanted it enough to purchase it as an original series in the first place.
